Prompt 19: Darkness. "She never knew the darkness..."
She never knew the darkness,
she brought light where'er she went,
shining from within her,
like the sun beneath her skin.

Until the day it was stolen,
by a charmer full of lies.
Every pearl of light slipped away
as each tear fell from her eyes.

She wandered in the shadows,
stumbling, each step she took.
Lost in the realm of regret and loss,
she did not know where to look.

The light came back perceptibly,
but she locked it out of sight,
lest another be drawn to it,
and try again to steal her light.

Still lost, of course, she faltered
and finally unlocked the door.
The light burst forth and filled her
and she walked in darkness never more.
