Humorous poem
In our street there lived a dog
Who wouldn't sit or beg
Instead he chased folk down the street
And bit them on the leg

Now in the house next door to mine
There lived a man called Hector
A man of smart appearance
Who was a Tax Inspector

One day he walked past Rover's house
Forgetting to beware
When suddenly he heard a growl
And noticed Rover there.

Tearing down the road he went
With Rover at his heels
The sound of angry barking
Was mixed with frightened squeals

This was one race poor Hector
Simply couldn't win
And quite soon Rover caught him up
And bit him on the shin.

An ambulance was called at once
To rush him from the scene
And get him to a hospital
As he was turning green

They made it to the hospital
He hadn't made a sound
They called in extra surgeons
To try to bring him round

They worked away all through the night
And every cure was tried
But in spite of this attention
Sadly, Rover died.
