just a poem.
I'm on the brink
On the edge of a vast endless plain
I look down and see the dark
The unknown, unexplored, the dangerous

I look up and see the safety of the familiar
The warmth of friends and families
The days of conformity and knowledge, the days where all has been explored and all has been learned

And I'm tempted to jump

I'm tempted to just fall into the black abyss
Smiling with my face to the lights and my arms extended
Embracing it in a friends farewell

I'm tempted to leave
To have my adventures
To see the unseen
Know the unknown

I hear the scrap of gravel against
The underside of my boot
The soft breeze kisses at my face
Urging me to fulfill my desires
And explore a new realm

I look down, and I imagine freedom
Not death, for I shall survive this fall

I look up to the sky
And all at once every moment
Every place in time has seemed to sync
To lead me here

To this
Cliff

And at the bottom of this hole,
This massive opening in the earth
I have no idea what I'll find

But the elders have gone here
They have searched and seen

And they are afraid.
They are afraid of accepting new things
They ban the concept of originality
And beauty

I have one foot over the edge
It's cold, a refreshing cool descent
