Bittersweet.
I used to keep those pictures out. I used to look forward to all the little milestones. I used to anticipate years of hugs and kisses. I used to think about how awesome it would be to have a pal. I used to picture a high school graduation followed by a college diploma. I used to dream that someday there would be a wedding and a new generation of curly haired sprites to spoil. I used to keep those pictures out.

Now they gather dust in a box in the back of the closet along with a piece of my heart.
