children's poetry
Lady bug landed on my knee, elbow, and then my nose
Her color is red, with so many spots to see
Those are called dots, count 1, 2, and 3
Lady bug helps our garden grow and eats bad bugs
She brings you luck from up above
Don't fly away home just yet, bring more so I can catch
Her tiny wings and six black feet go marching on to bring home dinner for her little ones as a treat
In the spring I see only one, and then the next day more to come
Watch out aphid pests, you become a snack so that tiny lady bug can devour and that's that!
