Persevering the storm. Written after my wife of 34 years, Cindy, passed away from cancer.
The tears I cry could fill a river,
Memories nearly drive me insane.
Lord what I wouldn’t do to bring you back again.

How many days have I sat alone
Lost in thoughts of our time together?
Please God give me the strength
To carry me through my stormy weather.

Reminiscing about our life brings
A smile and often a tear I shed.
Yet night after night I thrash about
Like there’s an enemy in my bed.

So the sun may shine and the rain will come
But I know I must be stronger.
For over the mountain high and the valley deep
I shall walk a while longer.
