Poetry aids I use. Long time for me to learn. Thought it appropriate as a free form.
Poems need not rhyme
Nor follow structures stiff
But flow, off tongue, off eye
To bind the mind and ear

As the famous sculptor sang
Each marble piece, a statue clear
Imprisoned there such beauty fine
Thus just remove unneeded stone
Unrivalled art reveal

Your poet’s job is just as clear
Cast off the words that block the mind
Review, review my poet friend
Edit every word and line
Again, again, and once again
Until the truth shines out

Your duty next,
Each poem aloud
Reveals the flow,
Your faults will show

Edit every word and line
Again, again, and once again
Until the truth shines out

A day, a week, a year
Each poem aloud
Edit every word and line
Again, again, and once again
Until the truth shines out

I hope these words may you assist
As they have helped me to
Clearly cast emotion
For me and you and you

Hope this gives you pause to think
Good luck, Bon Chance, Write On!
