A mother's torment at her partner's deception.

A mother's tears of torment
controlled gently string by string
until this twisted, tangled bullshit
believed so long
sets in and stings.
Strength:
moment by moment
rises up again and fades.
Anger, grief, and anguish
felt so strongly
comes in shades.
What to say to those who love her,
how to keep the foundation from giving way.
Are you carefree and without worry,
while 30 years go up in flames?
A father's hands envisioned working,
tired eyes and strain from wear,
the illusion shattered in an instant,
the flimsy walls you built, they tear.
A thousand kisses she has wasted.
Eyes once shut tight, now see the truth;
these mother's tears of triumph
long ago stopped needing you.
