An intense poem about the color red.

Strike a fire.
Don't let it die.
Feed it,
till it drowns out
every shout, every cry.

Crimson fingers intertwined in yellow,
assaulting your senses,
the smell of smoke.
Passion personified,
with every brush stroke.

Painted on the clouds,
with every setting and rising sun.
Red, so fiery,
for the dark and daylight alone
it'll come undone.

Painted on paper,
painted on glass.
With spray cans,
adorned on the walls of every hallway every class.

Bloodshot eyes when you've cried all night,
or eyes like wild fire,
when vengeance cuts through the body,
cold as ice.

The color of anger,
when it surges through my veins.
The color of my heart,
when it loves, when it pains.

Loud like the howling wind,
dazzling like a lover's eyes,
breathtaking like an adrenaline rush,
deeper than the deepest seas,
fierce like a warrior tribe,
pulls you in, strong as swamp mud,
Red...is every drop of my blood.
