memories are stronger than reality
I mournfully yet fondly gaze

Through fancy lights on faded glass

With happy scenes of other days

And short lived pleasures of the past

I glue my nose to the window panes

Seemed to paint with youthful laughs

I see the silver drops fall down

Two friends running and chasing

Madly and crazily splashing the rain

The moment then passed like childish tears

Throwing me back on bygone years

I sighed and see the lights flicker

Smiling teens visiting new places

A canoe trip, or trek in the woods

Birthday smiles and wedding gathers

The scene faded as I tried to capture

Like love in the hearts and lover's dreams

I found myself back to the murmuring

Gluing my face to the glass that viewed

In the stain glass window, I looked

Two love birds' arms around each other

I remembered the feeling of my love,

The relationship fading without a goodbye

I held my composure and tried to sigh

But I fall to the floor still looking

Through the reflection into the window

I adjust my teardrops fall from the sky

But feelings are forever written

On a scroll inside my heart

Through the window afraid to look out,

Memories to remind but I knew

Through the reflections of the window

The pain lingers inside
