Losing oneself only to finally find oneself again with the help of another.
           Confidence          Lost          April 7, 2012

Confidence Lost

Lost so lost and alone

In a world of my own making

Yet not of my own will

Once strong and independent

Confident and ready to take on the world

Prepared to live a life of love and happiness

Where did the disconnect happen?

Self buried under another's needs

Sacrificing so that another may blossom

Now desperate for a way out, soon, fast

Suffocating, lost and alone

Freedom needed, but losing spirit, nearly given up

Then a friend from a distance beckons

Lending a sympathetic ear and supplying a lifeline

Providing a hope long thought lost

Such honest and open friendship

Never asking for anything, yet providing everything

Becoming intertwined, heart, mind, and soul

A slow awakening, confidence opening

As if a flower in the spring

Awake and eyes wide open, the way out

Can finally be seen
