Argument with the monster inside
The Demon. The Monster.
It will always win.
The incessant ranting
Trapped between my ears, ready to implode
Not yet full enough to escape my lips
I am ready to let the words go, begin to go away from the shadow
Begin to heal
No! Inside! You must always be within my shadow
They are out to get you.
Safety is within my confines.
No one wants to hear you, anyway.
. . . Okay.
My Demon, My Monster, please
The light
So sweet, warm
So lovely.
I feel myself warming to this light
Blossoming with new possibilities
Fool!
Stay within the shadows, hide
Away from the light.
You will only disappoint
No reason to try, when you will only fail, little fool
No one wants to see you, anyway.
. . . Okay.
My Demon, My Monster...
My Master.
It keeps me safe, hidden away from those who are out to break me
From failing, from falling
From feeling
I will stay
Good!
Stay within my shadows, away from the cruel world outside
The world that hates ugly, useless, disappointing things
The world that hates you.
No one wants you, anyway.
. . . Okay.
