Daily Cramp Poem 40 lines
Jack cant seem to find a way
To step out from his mold
The gears that turn and steam that blows
Is really getting old.

His goggles dark from sweat and soot
His hair in matted clumps
His hands are calloused hard and firm
His spirit in the dumps

The life he knew has passed him by
his girl no longer there
the days that pass without his kids
are just too much to bear

Buzzers buzz and ringers ring
Lights flash before his eyes
A lever thrown to keep in time
The whistles scream and sigh

He dreams of light pushed through the cloud
That darkens up his days
To float from his existence here
To change in many ways

Hes jarred awake, his cronies shout
His mind slow to reset
He missed his cue, the gears grind hard
His brow begins to sweat

Workers yell and scramble out
The steel cries out in pain
Ruptured pipes and flying parts
A sad and violent rain

Jacks eyes close to face his fate
He drops down to one knee
Engulfed in all he’s ever known
The light then sets him free
