A poem reflecting the stars in the sky, but also a hidden message about friends
Stars

I waited to watch the stars dance in the sky
And yet as I waited, the stars passed me by
The longer I waited the farther they went
And soon I found out that my time was all spent

The time that I wasted, I waited alone
I watched for the dancers, the moves left unknown
And when I was brittle, old, cold and alone
I envied the dancers, as they called me home

I dance through the night with a grace so sweet
Glancing back to the stars, I don't miss a beat
With pointed toes and a smile fit for a queen
I look like a star with a beauty unseen

I keep my talent and hide it far away
The stars never helped me so I will not stay
I find my own corner and dance by myself
And as I shine brighter I gain my own wealth

The stars don't shine anymore they have all left
They left me alone to dance and show my best
They can stay where ever they may have gone to
I have my own dance, the stars and I are through
