Addiction from the drug's point of view.
When you found me, you knew not why,
they just gave me away.
You tried not to take me.
But you did it anyway.
You let me bite a little and it didn't seem too bad.
I made you feel so happy,
except when you were sad.
I bite you, now more often, and you recoil from the pain.
You need me but you realize,
there's nothing you can gain.
I cost you more than money and I take more than I give.
You loved me, as you hate me now,
and wonder how you'll live.
For now I sink my fangs in deep and poison you with glee.
You want to give me up.
But you can't let go of me.
Sometimes you wake up screaming,
at what is this nightmare hell,
that has you so addicted.
Now you know it, all too well.
You see, I am a killer pet, who never will be tame.
And when I'm forced to leave,
you will cry and call my name.
For you, I'll have no sympathy.
I'll move on to the next.
They'll find me, just like you did,
too hard to resist.
