A wonderful place to check out if you ride bikes. In north Georgia

Two Wheels Only

T.W.O. is a place you must see;
that is if you ride bikes like my husband and me.
In the mountains of Georgia it’s hidden away,
A well kept secret that Must stay that way.
If you’re driving thru and would like to stop,
without a bike, you really should not.

When first you arrive, you’ll want to check-in,
but the sign on the porch is not the way to get in !!!
You’ll soon discover the system is neat,
just stow your stuff where you planned to sleep.
They’re no locked doors; this place is so neat.
The honor system is what makes it unique.
If it’s wood you need to build a camp fire, coffee in
the morning or maybe air for your tires.
when you look around you’ll discover with glee,
an honor box and a small honor fee.

As you awake each morning, you can’t wait to come down;
for a hot cup of coffee and hear the birds early sounds.
Breakfast is made by the owners, Brit and G.T.
It’s nothing fancy, just good food to eat.
They’re special people, just one of a kind;
They’ll both make you welcome each and every time.
The conversation with old friends is really quite grand,
A long ride in the mountains is the day’s only plan.

When you get confused and don’t know where to go,
You look around and what do you know,
In walks ole' Frank and everyone smiles,
He’s ridden these mountains for hundreds of miles.
He’ll draw you a map for a nominal fee and
send you on a route that will make you shout with glee.
The trip will take you anywhere you please,
up hills, around curves and to places such as these:

There’s the breakfast run to “The Village at Blue Ridge”.
You must stay alert or you’ll miss the third bridge !!…
Then it’s on to the beautiful “State Park at Unicoi”.
We’ll by-pass “Helen”, this you can see from a car.
If it’s a hike in the woods and waterfalls you seek,
You’ll love “Anna Ruby” and the falls at “Duke’s Creek”.
Next is “Sky Lake’s Country Inn”.
The bean soup and corn bread you’ll eat with a grin..
”Mark Of The Potter” is an old grist mill,
where lots of artist’s wares are for sale.
You can Feed the fish from the porch on the rear and
this stop will cost you only a couple of big bills !!!…..
There’s a road on the route back that goes for twelve miles.
It twists and it turns, we call it “Eight Miles Of Smiles”.

When the day is over and the riders come in,
We gather on the porch, the day’s tales to spin!
Then late in the afternoon as twilight sets in,
you can look across the campsites as nature’s light show begins.
Hundreds of fireflies dart among the trees and around the creek’s bend.
What a beautiful way to bring a great Georgia day to it’s end..
