The Voice of Jillian Peters

My name is Jillian Peters, but I prefer to be called Jill. I was born in Pennsylvania, and have lived there most of my life. I lived in New Jersey for a short time after my mother married her second husband. After they divorced she moved us back to Pennsylvania. I was happy to be back among my family.

I attended a high school with my cousins. While they were involved with various sports I found myself in the choir and the musical theatre. I had a great group of friends, but no boyfriends. My mother discouraged me from boys saying âthey are a distraction you donât need right now.â I graduated with a 3.0 GPA.

I went on to a community college, and obtained an associateâs degree in psychology. I went on to Penn State University to complete my bachelorâs degree in general psychology. While there I fell in love with a young English major named Luke Matthews. We spent all of our free time together; chatting, studying, and of course engaging in as much physical intimacy as I was comfortable with. Luke was not pushy or impatient. He assured me I was worth waiting for. We discussed our future together; he was going to be an English professor, and I was going to be a family counselor. Those dreams were not meant to be; at least not with us remaining together. Luke was accepted to a university in London to obtain a masterâs degree in English. I was accepted to the Univerity of South Florida to obtain a masterâs in counseling psychology. We said our goodbyes on the eve of graduation, and Luke was on a plane headed for London early the next morning. We kept in touch as we had promised. By the end of the summer I was packed and ready to move to Tampa Bay Florida to begin my post graduate studies.
