Aging Women
I'd forgotten that I am beautiful until today
when a man smiled and winked as if to say,

"Hello. How are you? You sure look fine. Care to share a sip of wine?"
I was puzzled and wondered as I walked past.

How bold uncouth how brazenly fast!

What was he thinking with that smile and that wink.
Was he confused? Could he not think?

And then it hit me.

Like a long ago memory.

I am beautiful;

Something I’d forgotten after all this time.

As wrinkles and gray tend to make me forget,
That to some I am beautiful still

and yet.
