Experiencing a moment in time when you know you were alive and well and living in paradise

Rocket Ride

In the search for the refuge of serenity

in a moment of serendipity

I took a rocket ride to freedom

Strapped to a second stage booster

That, (in what seemed at once an instant

Of infinite G forces

And an eternity of mind-bending geometries

Accompanied by overwhelming

If but momentary disorientation)

Took me all the way to orbit

to Q and to final synchronicity.

To a point where

There was now no longer an horizon

I could use as a reference

And in the distance against the darkness

There were only stars.

I realized with first joy in the knowing

And then sadness in the going

That my mind had so expanded

It would no longer fit back

Inside my head.

In a moment of hilarity

I had become a singularity

That one could not see beyond.

I was aware of an additional dimension

Acting more like a coefficient than a factor

But like metamorphosis rather than distortion

It was a confusing contradiction

That was at first difficult to grasp.

I was finally in a place

that I belonged,

That I belonged to

And that I had often

Longed to be.

I was

In the end

Of the

Beginning
