7 poems for Japenese poetry contest
A Myriad of Poetry, poems for the Japanese poetry contest

Children growing up
Changing right before your eyes
Tears are shed for them
Happiness and joy will grow
The price of being a Mom.

~~~~~~~~~~~
Blackened trunks on pines
The feel of fire still burns
New green growth bursting out loud
The circle of life ending
Brand new life begins again.
~~~~~~~~~~~

Clusters of color
Autumn leaves drift to the ground
Red, yellows, and orange
Cascading through the brisk air
Michigan’s autumn.

~~~~~~~~~~~
Amber eyes watching
Beauty and grace obvious
Mates for a lifetime
Together as family
The Wolf, creation of God.
~~~~~~~~~~~

Wolf eyes watching you
Hopeful for understanding
No danger lingers.

~~~~~~~~~~~
The Cannalupis
Running, hunting, and loping
Faithful and alert
A vision of grace, so rare
Strong and powerful, the wolf.
~~~~~~~~~~

Thanksgiving dinner
Gravy, potatoes
Second helping, full.
