A structure poem with a Thanksgiving theme.
It's Here, Then It's Gone


T is for turkey, the king of the feast,
H is for herbs that will flavor the beast.
A is for appetite, "pass me a leg".
N is for nutmeg, for pie I will beg.
K is for kisses, as I roll the dough.
S is for stuffing young faces that glow.
G is for grace, as we offer up prayers.
I is for intimate talk between chairs.
V is for valuable friends that check in.
I for infectious jokes Grandpa will spin.
N is for Nana who cleans up the mess,
G for the gravy she spills on her dress.

D is for dosing off during the game.
A for adornments of holiday fame.
Y is for yapping that goes on and on,

Happy Thanksgiving is here ... then it's gone. *LeafR*
