It doesn't have to be one extreme or the other.

The River

There are two sides of a wide river.

On each side there is a castle.

The walls are high.

Each fortress is strong.

One side is righteous.

The other side is righteous.

Neither side is righteous.

Both sides are fools.

The Queen of the left, sings left.

And her people sing along.

The King of the right, sings right.

And his people sing along.

Floating between these two strongholds,

on this wide, wide river,

are the lost people.

People that do not belong to a King or a Queen.

Some float close to the left.

Some float close to the right.

Some float in tight little circles right in the middle.

All lost people hear both songs.

Each hears the music different from another.

A blend of the left and of the right.

The lost sing a harmonious song of both King and Queen.

Each song is unique.
