poem about trying to fill the void
Open your eyes to the new day,
it's only your soul you have to pay.
Take a deep breath, open the door.
Try to avoid death, hoping for more.

Read long books, avoid conversation.
Take one look, no invitation.
Pack up your bags and move away,
from all your goals you've gone astray.

As sure as the sun is bright,
I gave my soul to the night.
A hundred times I've started over,
all that's changed is I am older.

So if heaven is a real place,
and I leave earth with no trace.
My heart was the great void,
and waking up leaves me annoyed.
