The existential boundaries of color.
Most live their lives in plains of grey
Under an infinite sky
With streaks of white and black
And a horizon of thin definition

I am hardly different
Adrift in the endless sea
Of inadequacy
And discarded dreams

But there are moments

I brush against the bank
Of sovereignty
A flash of red, crimson, rouge
Thoughts torn astray

My mind is scarred, weeping
Tears of stirred sapphire
That only give the rust
A sense of poignancy

The white turns to grey
The grey turns to black
And I can see
The difference.
