One of my favorite poems
Withered wings
I try to stretch my withered wings
But the iron claw will not release
The golden key within my sights
Still seems to be out of my reach

No one will help the captured bird
No one will watch her flail
How could anyone bear such a sight?
To watch how flight could fail?

The key crawls closer day by day
But it hardly moves an inch
I watch it skim the marble surface
The closeness makes me itch

I long to feel the sunlight
The warmth of love and care
However I’m still stuck here
Everyone still unaware
