about a fight to protect someone
With rage inside
I do collide
with the world around me

In my mind
the turning tide
washes away my thoughts

In a fit
I do admit
that the time has come

My eyes are lit
my muscles knit
a force is ready to go

The light does fade
the world does shade
into the darkest red

The words cascade
a fist is made
as the fury takes me

A punch is thrown
I hear a groan
the enemy falls to the ground

On the phone
the voices drone
calling out for help

The red won't stop
as others drop
unconscious all around me

There is a cop
just like a prop
standing on the sideline

Where is the light?
it must be night
it feels I've run for miles

In the fight
there comes a sight
to show this brawl will end

I kneel down
to see the frown
that shows great fear and sadness

That dark laced gown
rests gently around
the one that I defend

She is sad
that I've been mad
and fighting to excess

However I am glad
to see I had
saved the love of my life
