A poem detailing the ultimate sacrifice.
Would you die for someone

Who would not die for you?

Would you take their thorns and nails

One in each hand, that's two?

Would you take their beating

Pain with every lash?

Would you take the insults

Cruel and meant to slash?

Would you bear their burden

After your back is sore?

Would you save their life

If they would not save yours?

What if that person had cursed you

Cursed your very name?

What if that person had called you

Traitor, thief, and profane?

What if that person disowned you

Jailed you and threatened you too?

Would you die for someone

Who would not die for you?
