This poem is a poem I wrote for my creative writing class.
Lost in Translation
somewhere, we were lost in translation,
trying to comprehend you,
is listening to a man of faith speak in tongues
while I am faithless

father, you were a god to me,
bearer of my life,
I held you so high,
parallel with the sun and moon,
I would not find it so implausible
that ichor ran through your veins

somewhere, your godliness was lost in translation,
and the heavens deteriorated,
becoming chaotic fragments and dust,
the sun and moon no longer shining,
the ichor that once ran through your veins,
became corroded by unforgivable sins,
and now your body is coursing with rust

you have lost your divinity, your reverence
crippled by your own weapons,
you were cast from the heavens that you destroyed,
a fallen god weeping at my feet,
never spewing words of repentance,
only trying to revive your own dignity,
by draining me of my own
