A broken heart for a broken lady
ONE LONE TEAR

One lone tear

Glistens in the moonlight

Cascading thru the bedroom window

Illuminating the scene.

Alone, with the exception

Of the reflection

In her vanity mirror

Events of the night

Rerunning over and over and

Over her is what he said

One lone tear

Trickles down a blushed cheek,

Smearing the mascara

Applied with such care

Because he liked her eyes

Was it one of the lies?

Used to play the game

To get what’s wanted

Told again and again and

Again she sits brokenhearted

One lone tear

Is shed because of

And in the name of love

Joining an ocean of others

Wept through the millenniums

Representing countless sums

Of lonely nights, of broken hearts,

Of broken dreams

And more and more and

More to come I’m sure
