A poem when I was going thru a hard patch and needed someone to understand
I'm sitting on the sidewalk
Today...
I'm not sure
If I can stand up
And if I do,
How long it'll take.

I know
I'm supposed to be
Walking like
Everyone else
But somehow
I find myself here
Sitting on the sidewalk

And I'm not sure
That I can explain.

I know it seems
The day before
Yesterday
I was walking..
Marching in line
With the rest
Of the ants

But somehow
Today
I'm not.
And even if
I could explain
I'd rather not.

I just wanted
To ask
If you could
Stop with me
Awhile.
Because right now
I'm tired.
And
I wouldn't mind
Someone
To talk to
Who won't
Scold.

And if you stay
Until tomorrow
Please help me
To stand.
I might go
Slowly at first
But soon
I'll catch up
With the rest

Just don't
Leave me here
Sitting on the sidewalk.

I want to stand
I'm just not sure
How long it'll take.
