A peom to those who made the greatest sacrifice.
Memorial Day

Herein you lay, this mossy grave,
to glorify the life you gave.
Our eyes are closed, our hearts hang low,
for soldiers whom we did not know.

The earth is still child, have no fear,
no hurt or pain can reach you here.
Your fellow comrades who fought and died,
are waiting for you on the other side.

Worry not for those you left,
For those hearts lonely and bereft,
Will someday stand hand in hand,
In the beauty of God's Promised Land.

Yours was the greatest sacrifice,
But life was far too high a price.
In our memories you remain,
may your ending never be in vain.

Here on this decoration day,
In reverence I begin to pray,
for all those lives once swept away,
and those who live another day.

Sleep tight brave one, your fight is done,
the danger has passed; lay down your gun,
and from this world, a kiss goodnight,
God rest, and may your soul take flight.
