poem written while watching a small tree branch blow across the yard.
Once in the ground,
So mighty and strong.
Reaching into the sky,
Starward you longed.
But, all way too soon,
Things come to an end.
The rain's stopped coming,
And on came the wind.
It blew and it blew,
Like a mighty young steed.
Now, you roll along day and night,
The Life of a Tumbleweed.
