A poem for the WDC Teen Contest. Based on my sister.
Look at the lights
Up in the sky
Making the world seem new;
Fourth of July
bonfire light
Sitting here next to you;
Start up the grill
And barbeque till
No one can eat a bite;
I feel a chill
the night is still
I cuddle as you hold me tight;
I watch them flash
As memory's pass
Of the life of you and I;
I tremble and shake
My heart starts to ache
As I begin to cry;
You ask me "what's wrong?"
And I tell the long
Story of my fear;
You give me a hug
And say "Ladybug,
We're still sisters even if I'm not here.";
"Even when I go
You wont be alone
You can always give me a call.";
"And after a while
You will smile
And not even notice at all.";
The next day came
Along with the rain
As you moved out of my life;
But I'm not afraid
I'll be okay
'Cuz my sister's a brand new wife!
