Idea for a short story
# On the Road to Grinsby

There is a place called Besizmore Clan House, belonging to the Barthlowemews of Uptold County, near to the place where the Brothers Grinald lost their apes. The apes took over the forest nearby, and they had to close the road sending folks around the long way to Ashton-On-Green before they could head back toward the Grinsby

The apes started by throwing their feces at the riders and wagons, but soon learned to throw rocks and large logs. No man would kill an ape, seeing a diminished vision of himself in their human-like qualities. Old stories called them the Animal Grandfathers.
“They hates us because we’ve treated them so abominably,” Old Jeff used to say, but no one ever saw him taking a load of fruit or corn down to the edge of the heavy woods.

After so many years of not going up towards Besizmore, people tended to just forget it was there. The new road got fixed up and they built a new bridge at the little ford on GreenBottom Creek so it was open all year round. An outsider hadn’t visited the big heavy log and stone fortress of the Besizmore Clan for over twenty years.

Can you imagine what they found?
