See, do not look, listen, do not hear.
Feel the pain and how it burns,

Cold and alone while the world turns.

People look but they dont see,

The world has forgotten thee.

Forgotten in an instant.

The hunger cravings dwell deep down,

they cry and weep yet make no sound.

Suspended tears make cheeks glisten,

People hear but do not listen.

Forgotten in an instant.

One more dies, another born,

One more feels so ripped and torn.

The heart in pain, it bleeds and bleeds,

While the suffering plants more seeds.

Forgotten in an instant.

He goes off and fights his war,

Forever tormented by what he saw.

He returns home to his kids and wife,

But the world is tough so he ends his life.

Forgotten in an instant.

She extends her hand, and she saves souls,

Her eyes glazed over like a porcelain dolls.

For the hurt, not seen, lies deep inside,

Yet she takes it in her stride.

Forgotten in an instant.

Her only problems seemed so mild,

Until the day she lost a child.

Then her world came crashing down,

Guess how many came around.

Forgotten in an instant.

One day this world will come to an end,

And that day may just be 'round the bend.

The Earth will bleed like a slit wrist,

And life as we know it will cease to exist.

And forgotten in an instant.

Leave your mark. Remember the marks left before you. And if you think you've got it tough, think again.
