Brief Description
I've seen the devil
sitting in his living room
relaxing on our respective sofas and couches
talking until morning
after a drunken ramble from the bar down the road

I've seen the devil
he talked to me through my driver side window
telling me the people he worked with
and the treasures and comforts in store
when I find a bed for the hobos in my car

I've seen the devil
we roared dangerously through nights 'til sunrise
made splendid marvels from meaningless unity
out of beautiful exchanges of simplicity
only lasting a moments time
whose curtains fall as quick as it coming
leaving bewildered witnesses in awe

I've seen the devil
abandoning me on the road
turning minds against me
sitting across from me, on the other side of the street, down the hall
preying on unwitting fools, desperate travelers
the people with too much to lose

I've seen the devil
I've picked him out enough to know a few things
One being that the devil is not always there
and you can't predict when he'll come around
because the devil will do what he damn well pleases
