Sometimes, the barriers we place isn't such a bad thing.
A wall…
Such a fierce structure,
With no visible way to get through it.
This wall…
It speaks to me,
Telling me things I do not want to hear.
The wall…
Bears marks that resemble scratches,
Was someone trying to claw their way out?
Such a wall…
Refuses to allow me to think, to speak.
Then again, how long has this wall been here?
The wall…
This wall…
Sheltered me when I refused to show myself.
It didn’t falter when others tried to come in.
The wall…
This wall…
My wall...
Allowed me to thrash about and keep me safe.
Allowed me to scream as loud as I wanted and said nothing.
Allowed me to cry as many tears as I could and kept me safe.
The wall,
This wall,
My wall…
Such a fierce structure,
With no visible way to get through it.
