I am a being from Rymond, asked to describe where I come from... my name is Cynsfer.
September 20 Prompt

Rymond Reborn

Scavengers ravage the surface
Scouring the bounty that once was...
Paring back the greens and golds
That flourished with intensity.
Now the grey earth is scarred.
Burnt paths criss-cross the landscape
Showing the brutalness of war
And what remains.
Those that walk the surface
Are limp and lethargic
They move as if moving through
Thick fog and molasses.
Death walking, eyes glazed
No life... here.
But below the surface
In the crevasses and canyons
Life abounds and begins anew
Darkness is chased off with the light
From kerosene lamps that glow
Golden along the passages
Like the lowly mustard seed
We flourish...
Children's laughter can be heard
And singing, dances in the echoes
That run like life blood
Through chambers
That line the great hall.
There is only be green
In the glassed in houses
That drip with precious water
Filtered through the miles of soil
That separates us
From what was.
I am Cynsfer.
We have risen from the ashes
And bought new life
Into this place,
Along with the knowledge
That history has given us;
A gift of what not to do
As we forge forth in peace,
And in love.
Gratitude spills from our hearts
As we search beyond our boundaries
For others we can help.
