DAY 25 Prompt: Cursed

“You look famished my child, here, you must eat something.” The old woman spoke in soft tones, her voice soothing and enticing. She thrust a sweet tart into the young girl’s hand. It was warm, with the scent of brown butter, cinnamon and fruit.

Delighted, the girl devoured the treat. It was the most fulfilling taste she’d ever experienced. A small sigh of bliss escaped her lips, making the old woman cackle with delight.

She realized her mistake too late. Mortal food would no longer appeal to her nor satiate her hunger. She was forever lost to her own kind.
