Gospel

(Verse 1)
Everyone deserves a beacon,
Everyone deserves a guiding light.
Everyone needs a rising sun,
To help them escape the darkest night.

Never question your faith in me,
Let me be the one to soothe your pain.
I know that I'm not always stable,
But everyone is a little insane.

Let me be the reason you hear church bells,
Everyone has their own kind if gospel.

(Chorus)
I never said I had a halo,
But my inner peace is starting to grow.
I don't want any golden rings,
I just want a chance to have angel wings.
You and I can hope to save ourselves,
We can release each other from our living hells.
Maybe I'm just being hopeful,
But everyone needs some type of gospel.

(Verse 2)
I know I'm getting crazier everyday,
But at least I've become more wise.
I just need you to put your faith in me,
Because that's how an angel flys.

Maybe I belong in the lake of fire,
It seems like I have too much hate,
But maybe I'll be able to dance in the streets of gold,
Maybe that will be my fate.

(Chorus)
I never said I had a halo,
But my inner peace is starting to grow.
I don't want any golden rings,
I just want a chance to have angel wings.
You and I can hope to save ourselves,
We can release each other from our living hells.
Maybe I'm just being hopeful,
But everyone needs some type of gospel.

(Bridge)
If you and I die today,
What kind of price would we pay,
Would the skies turn to grey,
How peaceful would our bodies lay?

(Chorus)
I never said I had a halo,
But my inner peace is starting to grow.
I don't want any golden rings,
I just want a chance to have angel wings.
You and I can hope to save ourselves,
We can release each other from our living hells.
Maybe I'm just being hopeful,
But everyone needs some type of gospel.
