My thoughts on the past.

Sleepless in Georgia, in a cold dark prison cell. Staring at the walls of a self inflicted lonely hell. Tormented by the past, the choices that I didn't make. Screaming at myself for opportunities I didn't take. Sober thoughts. A life I could have had. Been a better husband, a better father, a better man. The high I chased was worth it then, but not in the end. Everything's clearer now, looking back on then. No one sees the pain, the things that I try to hide. The reasons for my running, the demons I have deep inside. Addiction is a beast, with an appetite for entire lives. While the beast is in control, you will steal, kill, cheat and lie. Until your empty. Everything you love and wanted, every hope and dream. Is totally destroyed, by the wreck less and starving beast. You open up your sober eyes, take a look around. Everything you traded for your high was worth it then, but is it worth it now
