Do you dare to look into its depths?
Creeping
You edge up to the rim
Toes gripping the ground
Willing yourself to back up
To refuse this journey
You've been here before
It never ends well

You inch closer and closer
Turning your face from the
Blackness ahead
Tears forming in the corners of your eyes
Squinting
Trying to avoid it
This won't end well

You pitch forward into the
Belly of the beast
Getting tangled in the
Never Weres and the Should Have Beens
Cutting your face on the
Not Good Enoughs and the Lost Lovers
The Empty Moments tickle your legs
The Disappointments wail in your ears
The Missing Chances come to bite your fingers
You come crashing down onto Dead Dreams
Gooey in your fingers
Empty Hours getting stuck in your hair
The Nobody Cares creeping over your clothes
And then the Why Do You Bothers come

Stealthily, while you fight the other monsters

And swallow you whole
