Thinking kind, loving thoughts with Thanksgiving approaching - a rhyming poem.
On the calendar, it's Thanksgiving;
A treasured time for blessed living.
A hearty meal, and folks' applause,
With gratefulness, its major cause.

Despite some wealth and gamely powers,
We channel wishes, mark these hours.
For Turkey Day lies straight ahead -
This night, enjoying meat and bread.

But simple truth, these sacred days
Often blind us of our ways,
'Cause satisfied would truly mean
A world so different, joys unseen...

So blessed with mercy we've been shown,
Much less troubled, sights to hone.
A wicked spectre's miles away,
But oh so real, this Turkey Day...
