This is a short poem about New Year Resolutions.

New Year Resolutions, we try to keep, but with so much fear,
Trying to keep fit and healthy, but straight away where is the beer!
It tends to last me a couple of days,
But I don’t exercise, there I lay,

It’s in the mind, the body and soul,
So much effort trying to get that new Year Goal.
Out with the old, in with the new.
To stop drinking coke, junk food, phew!

I was ever so sporty back in the day,
That’s all I can really say,.
Now I get out of breath every few seconds,
I had to buy bigger clothes, a lazy human beckons,

The scales say I have plenty of fat,
It’s clear, to me, let’s have some of that
To eat healthily and go down to the gym.
Even perhaps have a little swim.
