A hit song when I was born.
Turntables once spun records day and night;
herein the song in title gives a rush.
Evocative the Tokens catchy tune.

Long ago I graced this mortal coil;
I hear it was a big hit back then.  I
only heard it once or twice, and also
never knew it would allay depression.

So when I’m blue I play it and it helps
lift me from lower realms, and I am tall,
energized by classic sixties’ oldie.
Even anxiety’s amble comes home.
Perhaps the beastly king approves the help
such rich and alluring song affords.

Those tendons taut; morose, I was uptight!
Oh sleeping lion, how I need you so.
Nudged by a bit of music, once again,
I ride along the waves of rhythm.  I
gain the joy that summer sun can bring,
hold onto it like it’s the cure for wrath,
then breathe a sigh and thank the sleeping beast.
