A poem is written to imitate the sounds of the steps downstairs
Smells

Smells of:
Thick ink
Cold milk
New shoes
Empty room
Empty heart
Yellow smile
Open mouth
Black file
Soft thing
Runny soap
Lonely day
Sandy way
Rocky bed
Green meat
Flat hand
Handy foot
Long minute
And his and theirs
And my empty heart is ready to smell them all at once.
