A simple spiritual poem in open form.
water of life

Water is the life-blood of earth, it is vital to everything that lives. Water washes and cleanses, it takes away all the unwanted and unpleasant things. It moves them away, away to be seen no more-- forgotten.

Water is what we desire. We long for it daily, even more than food, even more than clothes. Whether we know it or not, it is what we crave.

It is what we seek when we reach for other drinks. It is what we desire when we reach for the juiciest fruit. It is what we need in the air we breathe.

You cannot deny, and neither can I, that these are the reasons why, why Jesus said, "I am the water of life."
