Revised version of original poem titled "Chill" Poem #1A
There is Love

Before the warmth
bitter cold unrelenting,
catches a body
unprepared.

Toes and fingers protest
then succumb,
as the ice storm
pounds the ground.

No hope of thawing
until winter wanes,
when nature commands
the sun to raise temp.

Spring arrives
with a promise,
to breathe life
into thirsty lungs.

Best now to stay inside
turn up the heat,
slip on some thick socks
rest, relax, and read.

Where there is heat
there is warmth,
where there is warmth
there is love.
