An internal fight, never-ending.

Please come stand
by my side.
Don't be afraid,
don't run and hide.
Instead, give me your hand,
tell me you understand.
I fight with all my might,
but I just can't ignore
this festering pain.
My temper rises
to a boiling point,
with just a spark,
it's flaming hot.
Oh, how I pray
for it to stay away,
but it just won't obey.
I've been
trapped by this
negativity far too long.
Demonic claws clutch
tightly around my throat,
halting my
mobility to flee.
Holy oil has not banished it,
truly I've tried.
The seed of stress
has been planted deep,
its' roots feed the devil, well.
And as it fills its' evil need,
the bitterness spreads to invest.
Again, I fall onto bended knee
and desperately cry out to God.
