Lavender Teddy Bear Named Prince Poem

I got a Teddy Bear for Mothers Day
He is lavender with a cute bow around
his neck. A gift from my husband. So sweet.
What do I name him? I thought of Purple Rain.

Prince. I named him Prince. I felt a little sad.
I loved Prince and his music. I cried when I
heard he had died. I love his movie Purple Rain.
I enjoy his music and I listen to it all the time lately.

I look at the Time Magazine I have that is all about him.
I collect Teddy Bears of all colors and they all have names.
This lavender bear had to be Prince. My newest treasure,
He is in my bed and I see him when I wake up. I smile.

The Teddy Bear isn't Prince. I feel better about Prince
no longer being alive when I see my teddy bear. I think
Prince would approve. Purple Bear, Purple Rain.
May Prince rest in peace. He was one of the great Rock Singers.

I am not good with tributes and tribunes. I just had to write
this and let the world know I won't forget Prince. The Teddy Bear
is special as Prince was. This is a great gift from my husband.
I hope all you Prince Fans will like this poem and remember his music.
